GC TOP 121

Hybrid structured, transparent sealing product. It consists of inorganic silicon compounds and polymer components for excellent film formation.

Functional constituents significantly improve the resistance to creep corrosion.

Thanks to its optimised flow properties, GC TOP 121 is ideally suited for coating transparent zinc and zinc alloy layers in rack application processes. Even on large parts, such as window fittings, GC TOP 121 forms a uniform film without runs or haze.

Thanks to its good natured adhesive behaviour, it is possible to have trouble-free processing of bulk materials and flat superimposed part geometries in the drum or dip/spin centrifuge.

The dry film has a layer thickness of 0.8 to 1.5 µm and suppresses the iridescence effects of the passivation.

Opposing layer properties such as ductility and hardness open up additional possible applications for the sealing product.

Corrosion resistance in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8227 depending on the substrate:

• Acid zinc 8–12 µm, DISP, GC TOP 121 WR > 200 h RR > 480 h
• Zinc-nickel 8 -12 mm, transp. passivated, GC TOP 12 WR > 300h RR > 1000h

GC TOP 121 offers high resistance to cyclic corrosion tests.
