Lubrification coating specially for wood construction screws
Products from the GC LUB range produce lubrication on galvanised surfaces. The products can be applied directly to surfaces passivated by GC PASS, or applied as an additional lubrification coating on unlubricated GC TOP sealants.
GC LUB 503 is a universally applicable after-treatment and offers a special advantage as a subsequent lubrication for wood and chipboard screws. The transparent layer reduces the screw-in moment into different types of wood and minimises the gripping time. In addition, it sustainably increases the corrosion resistance of the galvanised coating and therefore the substrate too. In addition to the increased resistance to the neutral salt spray test, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227, the occurrence of base metal corrosion in the Kesternich test, in accordance with DIN 50018, is also delayed.
The coating concentrate is set at 40-50% and is ideally suited for processing in dry centrifuges with hot-air injection between 80 and 120 °C. Of particular note is the good-natured coating behaviour of the product thanks to its greatly reduced tendency to stick. This means a trouble-free process is possible. The resulting dry film has a layer thickness of 0.8 to 2.0 µm, and also promotes the high-quality appearance of the metal surface.
